The question
Whether any religion is true is among the oldest questions human beings have asked, and it remains genuinely contested among careful thinkers. Believers, skeptics, and the undecided have all held their positions after serious reflection. This site takes that seriously. It exists to present the strongest available case for every major worldview, and to correct the false claims those worldviews sometimes aim at each other.
The test we hold ourselves to: a devout believer, an atheist physicist, and an undecided teenager should each finish a session here feeling the site respected them and represented them accurately.
Steelmanning
Every position on this site appears in its strongest defensible form, the form its most thoughtful proponents would recognize as their own. When we present a criticism of a worldview, we present it as its sharpest proponents state it. When we present the response, we present the response its most capable defenders actually give.
If one side of any pairing reads weaker than the other, that is a defect, and we rewrite it. Symmetry is checked at review: equal depth, equal care, equal space wherever views meet.
Attribution
Contested claims are never stated in the site's own voice. They are attributed: adherents hold, critics respond, most historians date, physicists generally agree. Where scholarship and tradition disagree about a date or an event, we report both positions and say who holds each.
Each tradition is described in its own vocabulary first, with a plain gloss for readers meeting the term for the first time. We avoid loaded words: we do not call living faiths myths, and we do not use words like cult or superstition at all.
Source standards
Claims about what a tradition teaches cite sources from inside that tradition: its texts, its mainstream scholars, its official bodies. Claims about history, archaeology, or science cite mainstream academic scholarship. Every research page ends with a reading list drawn from both.
Where the evidence is genuinely open, we say so plainly. An honest archive marks the edge of what is known.
Corrections
Readers can submit corrections for any claim on the site. A correction that shows a misattribution, a factual error, or a failure of the steelman standard is applied, and the change is noted on the affected page. We treat a reader who catches a lean in our framing as a collaborator, not a critic.
Who runs this site
The maker of this site intends to remain unnamed in its pages for one reason: nothing about the archive should invite the question of what its author privately believes. The work is meant to stand or fall on its accuracy and its evenhandedness.
